Book: Walking in White

Author: Commissioner Jolene K. Hodder

“I first got to know the author through these blog entries that she wrote while in Kenya several years ago. I found that I couldn’t wait for the next one! Jolene’s ability to tell the quite fantastic (and true) story of her walk with God while serving Him in Kenya with humor, honesty and joy is a kind of spiritual cup of strong coffee. Reading them now in book form, for me, serves as a sort of devotional reading (I’ve been reading a chapter or two at bedtime). That is, in her sharing her stories, I am encouraged, convicted and exhorted to more faithfully follow the same Lord she serves.

In general, this a great record of someone living in a place and situation that is truly “not Kansas anymore, Toto” – but doing so with great joie de vivre, and focus of purpose. And this, because God has given her and her husband a deep and heart-felt love for the Kenyan people. Above all, it is a love story for the Lord who has called them to this extraordinary life. A really great book!”
