Show and Tell
Invite the women to share one of the favorite items they brought from home and explain why it is important to them.
Pass the Gift
Ask the women to bring a small gift item. Everyone picks a gift and takes a turn rolling the dice. The number on the dice will determine what they must do. For example: 1. steal the gift, 2. pass the gift to the left or to the right, keep the gift). His Love Endures Forever
What are some of your favorite things? I have a long list. I love food, making earrings, spending time with family, Christmas (yes, even Kettles!), the Bible, and so much more. But one of my favorite things to do is spending time with God through devotions and worshipping Him through music.
When I think about God, I think about how much He favors each of us. While we could be doing other things, we chose to be here today in fellowship and in worship. God has the ability to choose as well and He chose to love us because He is love. The Bible says, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1, NIV). God has chosen us to be His children. He favors you and He favors me because we are His creation. Think about it: He provides for our every need, He protects us day by day, He has given us another day of life and a family to worship with.
We read in Psalm 118:1(NIV), “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” This is a familiar verse that you probably have heard many times. Sometimes, when we say or read it, it can feel very routine and we don’t stop to fully consider it’s meaning. But if we dig deep into that verse, we see so much history. This psalm was used as an entrance to the Temple and also at the festival of Passover. It was used to proclaim the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt and later from the Exile. It was a joyful chant as they marched around. Even when they thought about the dark times they had gone through this Psalm was on their lips.
How great is it to know that God’s love endures forever. No matter how far we may go, how many mountains we climb and valleys we walk through, God favors us and will show us His love forever. Take this Scripture and hold it close to your heart and remember that God will keep you, will favor you and will hold you close always.
