Thanksgiving Scripture Verses

Invite the women look up and read verses that give thanks to the Lord. The following are some suggestions:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for His is good; His love endures forever” (1 Chron 16:34. NIV).

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.  Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always (Ps.105:1-4 NIV).

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called accordingly to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28, NIV).

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods” (Ps. 95:1-3 NIV).

“I always thank my God for you because of His grace given you in Christ Jesus” (1 Cor. 1:4, NIV),

“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the Word of God and prayer” (1 Tim. 4:4-5, NIV).

Thankfulness Activity

Ask the women to write down what they are thankful for and share it with each other.

He Will Take Great Delight in You

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing” (Zeph. 3:17, NIV). What a wonderful reminder that the Lord rejoices over His people with gladness and joy. He is with you always, mighty to save you. He rejoices in you with gladness. This is how God thinks about you and all His people.

My husband and I love cruising because you are always surrounded by God’s amazing and beautiful creation. No matter where we have been, we are always thankful and grateful for the Lord’s creation. We are amazed at the ocean that seems to never end; for the beautiful colors of the sunrise and the sunsets that are always different. We are also blessed by the wonderful people that we get to meet and know. Through these experiences, I am always reminded how much God loves me. I am His child. I am priceless because I was created in His image, and so are you. I know that most of us feel that we are very busy, but we should never be so busy that we don’t stop for a moment each day to be still, to look around at God’s beautiful creation and to give Him thanks for all His goodness. We are blessed people because He loves and rejoices over us. This should be our reason to thank Him.

Here are some ways that you can express our praise and thanksgiving to God.

• Give thanks and as you pray. Starting with the letters A through Z, list the way that you can give thanks.
• Read and meditate on God’s words; listening to what He wants to share with you.
• Praise Him by listening to Christian music throughout the day— in your house, office, car, or wherever you are.
• Praise Him through your prayers.
• Acknowledging that God is a good God who loves you.

He is always so faithful. Even on the days that you don’t feel like you are worthy or that you are not good enough; that the mountains that you are climbing are too steep, and the valleys too deep. No matter what you are currently going through God can bring you joy. Remember you are priceless and loved. You are precious in His sight. You are the daughter of the mighty King.

When you give thanks to the Lord, you are worshipping, glorifying, praising, and honoring Him. When you give thanks, you are at peace knowing that He is in full control.  He has never left you, and that you are always in the palm of His mighty hands.
